FMC for Blackberry

FMC for Blackberry

Auratel is pleased to announce that it is launching the mobility client for the Blackberry device at the Convergence Summit 2009, held at Sandown Park, Surrey on 13/14 October 2009.

Despite all the talk about Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC), until now there has not been a solution for Blackberry users. Users of the RIM device account for a significant share of the smart mobile device market but this advanced functionality has historically only been available to smart mobile devices such as those running Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems.

The solution enables the devices to become an extension of the traditional voice system known as Private Branch Exchange (PBX) or IP-PBX – users will be contactable at any time with a single number.

Blackberry users can now enjoy all the corporate features on their Blackberry device including:

  • International calls at local rates
  • Smart Roaming Solutions
  • Dual ring (fixed and mobile)
  • Corporate music on hold
  • Short dialing, call transfer and conferencing

This opens the door for resellers to persuade the key financial sector to embrace the technology, enabling users to reduce their call and communication costs and increase productivity by being able to deal with data and use the Blackberry as a mobile voice extension on the road.

For the reseller, this means increased demand resulting in greater sales opportunities and healthier margins.

Auratel will be demonstrating the complete Blackberry mobility client on stand No. 59 at the Convergence Summit.
